Tis the season of Friendsgivings and office parties. If you are wondering what to wear, because the dress code is a little unclear, you’re not alone. You know a suit would be too much, and just a dress shirt with slacks is too boring, then this is the type sweater you can rock to really nail it.

Weekly Theme: Keep it Cozy

A comfy cardigan is a go-to in the colder months if you want to get cozy. This shawl collar cardigan from Peter Millar is super warm and comfy because it is made from wool and yak, meaning it is soft but also holds in a lot of warmth. The neutral colors make it great to wear with both black and brown and the shawl collar makes it formal enough for business casual with a button down underneath, or a great way to dress up a v-neck and jeans.

Rag & Bone Fit 2 Chinos in Stone Review

via bloomingdales.com

via bloomingdales.com

Listen, these will likely get the most attention from the aforementioned self-proclaimed fantasy fashion officer Brittany because we are still past Labor Day and these are pretty white. These are however, technically "Stone." So you can once again tell Brittany to lay off. While we have never seen a stone this white, it fits our criteria for the week, and these chinos are pretty great. There is a reason Rag & Bone has become the preferred "step up" from the J. Crew's and Banana's for many millennials. Quality, and fit. They made their way to popularity partially due to their chinos, and these are their most popular fit, in a color that you can wear all Spring, Summer, and Fall, making it well worth the investment.

It has a mid-weight texture in a classic herringbone pattern that isn't overly loud or distracting, and has a slimmer cut to give the wearer a more flattering silhouette. Frank and Oak Jasper Marled Button Down

via frankandoak.com

via frankandoak.com

This marled button down from Frank and Oak is a great stand-alone piece that also functions as a stylish top layer when paired with a solid or graphic t-shirt underneath. The marled nature of the all cotton fabric gives the shirt a bit of heft and structure that you don't get with chambrays and other standard cotton button downs. This is the collared shirt for the casual office when the temperatures in the morning start in the 40s and look to rise into the 60s. It also transitions from work to play extremely well when worn with dark wash (or raw) jeans or even khaki or dark green chinos.

Available on FrankandOak.com for $60

Club Monaco Lux 5-pocket Corduroy

via Clubmonaco.com

via Clubmonaco.com

We were scouring the online sale rack of Club Monaco (where we end up at least once every 3 days) and stumbled on these bad boys. These cotton blend corduroy pants from Club Monaco have a classic jean-style 5-pocket construction, a slim cut through the leg, and are made of a cotton blend that includes a hint of stretch so bending down to pet your dog won't result in any ripped seams or abrupt crouching halts due to excess tension around the knees. So pet away, just remember to lint roll them after to get all of that dog hair off of you. Right now they are 30% off so take advantage while you can. We suggest wearing them with a gray henley (like the pick from yesterday) or a simple white button for a smart look that can't go out of style if it tried.

Available on sale at ClubMonaco.com for $70 (normally $99)

DSTLD Skinny-Slim Indigo Grey Denim Jeans

via dstld.com

via dstld.com

A staple in any man's closet is a pair of dark-washed jeans. They can be the daily wear, and be dressed up when the occasion calls for it. These dark indigo grey jeans from DSTLD are awesomely dark, raw denim that will wear nicely over the 5+ years you'll have them and won't be going out of style any time soon. These LA-made jeans are cut in a way to reduce the bagginess around the thigh and the ankle without being so tight that motion is reduced to a robot walk so don't be scared off by the skinny label. They go great with just about anything and are dark enough to be included in the smart casual dress code category so pop on that sport coat and start networking. One note: These are Raw Denim, meaning if you wash them, wash them in cold water only, and never throw them in the dryer if you want them to remain the same size. To get rid of any smells, we suggest you put them in the freezer, yes the freezer, for about a day.

Available on dstld.com for $75

J.Crew V-Neck Cashmere Sweater

Jcrew Hearth Grey vneck cashmere sweater.jpeg

You're going out on a group outing to a rooftop bar in October, it's 78 degrees during the day but will likely dip into the 60's after the sun goes down. You have to go to work before heading to the bar and the office is a balmy 76 degrees thanks to Charlie and Jane, the two perennially cold people who are friends with the office manager. How does one prep for this? Easy- pack this J.Crew cashmere sweater in your bag and be prepared for it all. Its super soft, and goes with almost any shirt you need to layer, collared or not. The only rub with this is that it's dry-clean only, so keep that in mind the next time you go to the cleaners. Plus a cashmere sweater for under $100 is a pretty decent find, so snag this while you can, and be prepared for your happy hour chill out.

Chukkas provide the perfect look for smart-casual footwear. This means they go well with chinos and dark jeans, and while most chukkas you'll find come in various shades of brown, these Chukkas from J&M are a gray suede meaning they can be worn with the blacks grays and whites of your wardrobe. As one of our leading ladies has written before,  a woman looks a man's shoes as a way to judge his character. So be sure to put your best foot forward and be on your shoe game. These will surely help. We suggest you wear these with black jeans, dark green chinos, or navy tailored khakis.
