RVCA Option Trucker Hat

RVCA Trucker hat.jpg

So trucker hats aren't really the pinnacle of style, we know. But RVCA has done a damn good job making them look less like they're from the trailer park, and more like they're from a respectable young professional's spacious apartment. These hats are great for the Sunday stroll to get coffee or breakfast, when doing your hair is too much, and its not quite beanie weather.

When lounging in the fall, not many other garments are more comfortable than a slightly baggy knit sweater. Enter this Urban Outfitter (UO) Ultimate Knit Sweater. Its acrylic and mohair (angora goat fiber) composition make this sweater super soft and warm, yet breathable. Think of it as the Sunday sweater. A fit note: the construction of this sweater is a bit long so when getting a medium, and you're shorter then 5'9" prepare for it to hit a little lower than your belt.

Microsoft Arc Mouse

The Microsoft Arc mouse solves the problem most office goers have of trying to carry a bulky mouse in your pants pocket, or in your hand with your laptop, while moving from your workspace to a meeting. This mouse folds flat to slimly fit in your pants or jacket pocket, allowing you to carry it around easily, with no awkward bulge in your pocket. The battery life is great, lasts about 4 months on two AAAs, and the scroll panel has a reactionary click, making it feel like a classic wheel where none truly exists. Its almost like magic.

Topman Lightweight Bomber Jacket

via Nordstom.com

via Nordstom.com

A lightweight bomber jacket is the perfect outer garment for early fall and spring, given the color you choose. This bomber from Topman is our pick for the minimalist in all of us. The 100% polyester outer layer, and the 3 pocket design (two exterior and one interior) give this jacket all of the classic design elements of a well constructed bomber. That being said, there isn't anything fancy about this classic top layer, but that means you can layer it with what ever casual shirt you want, which is why we like it so much.

Nautica Striped Sweater

via Nautica.com

via Nautica.com

The Nautica Striped Sweater is a closet standard for fall. It provides a sophisticated look while being extremely comfortable. What's better, is their modern slim fit which gives you enough room to add layers underneath but wont bunch up at the bottom. This cut alone makes this sweater worth its weight in 100% cotton. No one wants to keep messing with the reappearing muffin top at the bottom of a poorly cut sweater. So toss out your old one, and replace it with this blue-striped gem.

Chemex 6 Cup Coffee Brewer

via roastmasters.com

via roastmasters.com

If you are a frequent coffee drinker and haven't tried a Chemex yet, now is a great time to give it a go. This style of brewing allows you to brew more than your standard v60 pour-over (six cups vs one), and it takes about the same amount of time. This method is also our preferred way to brew if we have people over, this way we're not hovering over 3 different cups for 10 mins each just to serve a few guests. If you're hesitant to get one without knowing exactly how to brew with it, don't worry the gents over at Stumptown have you covered.

Barbour Bifold Wallet

via Nordstom.com

via Nordstom.com

The Barbour bifold wallet is a bit different than your typical bifold due to its obvious vertical orientation. Why the vertical fold? The vertical fold allows you to hold more cards without adding to the thickness of the wallet. However, this fold makes it harder to fit cash in nicely, but no one uses cash anymore so its nothing to lose sleep over when deciding on a new pocket piece. The Barbour bifold also has a nice green plaid accent in the middle, giving it some character on top of the high quality leather you can expect from a brand like Barbour.

If you haven't heard of Stance yet, listen up. These guys make some awesome socks, in patterns that don't make a lot of sense most times, which makes them even more awesome. This lone ranger design was recently released, they aren't too loud but have a subtle patriotic tinge to them, which is always a plus, and we love 'em.

The Tie Bar Astute Solid Lapel Flower

via thetiebar.com

via thetiebar.com

We have all looked down at our left lapel at some point and thought 'why is there a button hole, with no button right there?" the answer is a lapel flower. Lapel flowers are coming back into style, so use them to your advantage. Match with a pocket square or tie, or both, just make sure the three don't clash, and don't go overboard. Show that you know what you're doing, without throwing it in everyone's faces.

We've written about the wonders of Wurkin Stiffs before. The magnetic collar stays are one of the best investments a gentleman can make. Just imagine, no more curling your collar down with your thumb and pointer finger, no more rogue flaps popping out of your jacket or vest, and no more "ready for take off" wings at the base of your neck. They are a small solution that makes a large impact on your collared shirt. We never leave home without them.

Every gentleman needs a well-fitting, multifaceted blazer they can wear to work, and out for a night on the town. The beauty about Indochino is their clothes are made to measure to ensure fit, customizable, and are sold at a price lower than most off-the-peg suit shops. We like this windowpane blazer because it is in the sweet spot where flashy meets business. The color also lends itself to be more versatile with common slack colors and jeans.

Gap 1969 Denim Jacket

via gap.com

via gap.com

Few things last like the denim jacket, and the Fall is the perfect time to rock it. This kind of jacket is a standard that needs to be in every modern gentleman's closet. Layering it over a t-shirt in early October and throwing a flannel on underneath toward the end of the season is our typical wear routine. The only caution we will impart is to avoid the denim suit. If you are wearing a blue jean jacket, do us a favor and skip the blue jeans.
